OmniPlan for iOS 3.12.1

October 18, 2019

Requires iOS 13

Version 3.12.1

OmniPlan 3.12.1 for iOS is a minor update focused on bug fixes.

  • Contextual Menu — Keyboard focus is now immediately placed in the Task Name label field when a new task is created via the contextual menu.
  • Free Viewer Mode — OmniPlan now presents an alert when attempting to create a new project in Free Viewer mode.
  • macOS Catalina Compatibility — Due to a compatibility issue with a system change in macOS Catalina, editing OmniPlan projects in older versions of OmniPlan for Mac on macOS Catalina can result in corrupted change logs that OmniPlan for iOS cannot read. Projects corrupted in this manner can be successfully opened in this version of OmniPlan for iOS.
  • Omni Automation [PRO] — OmniPlan Release Notes section of Omni Automation documentation is now functional.
  • Project Dates — Switching between Specific and Undetermined dates in the Project Inspector now updates project dates immediately.
  • Task Labels — Cursor no longer disappears after deleting last character in Task Name label.

OmniPlan for Mac 3.13.1

October 14, 2019

Requires macOS 10.14

OmniPlan 3.13.1 improves compatibility with macOS 10.15 Catalina.

Version 3.13.1

  • Omni Automation [PRO] — Omni Automation plug-ins can now be managed in the new “Plug-Ins” window (accessed from the Automation menu in the menu bar).
  • Calendar Sharing Actions [PRO] — Subscribing to a web calendar with a never-ending event no longer causes OmniPlan to hang.
  • Catalina Compatibility — Fixed compatibility issue with a system change in macOS Catalina that could cause previous versions of OmniPlan to write corrupted change logs. Files corrupted while running previous versions of OmniPlan on macOS Catalina can be successfully opened by this version of OmniPlan.
  • Catalina Notifications Alert — Earlier releases of OmniPlan included unused software update logic to present a system notification when an update was available. While this code wasn’t ever actually presenting any notifications, its presence triggers a prompt on macOS Catalina asking for permission to allow notifications. You could safely answer “Don’t Allow” in earlier releases of OmniPlan, and we’ve now removed this unused logic so the prompt won’t be presented unnecessarily going forward.
  • OmniPlan Files — It is no longer possible to open multiple copies of a single OmniPlan project via Finder. (To view the same OmniPlan project in multiple windows, use the “New Window on…” menu bar item.)
  • Stability — Fixed a crash that could occur exporting Reports on macOS Catalina.

OmniPlan for iOS 3.12

October 8, 2019

Requires iOS 13

OmniPlan 3.12 for iOS introduces support for new features in iOS 13 and iPadOS and adopts Apple’s standard iOS file browser.

Version 3.12

  • Document Browser — OmniPlan now uses Apple’s built-in iOS file browser for document management. With Apple’s file browser, you can store and sync your projects using iCloud Drive or a third-party solution, or you can continue to sync your projects via OmniPresence.
  • OmniPresence — Downloaded files synced via OmniPresence are now stored locally in a subfolder of the OmniPlan folder on your device. By default, OmniPresence does not download larger synced files automatically; tap the OmniPresence icon in the file browser toolbar to open the download manager and choose files to download.
  • Thumbnail Previews — Preview images are generated and saved as part of the file when a project is edited. Existing projects will not display a preview in the file browser until they are edited.
  • Context Menus — Quickly perform common actions in a project via context menus, accessed via 3D Touch or the touch and hold gesture.
  • Dark Mode — When your iOS device’s Appearance is set to Dark, OmniPlan’s interface will now automatically switch to Dark Mode. (Specifying the Dark or Light theme on a per-project basis is no longer supported.)
  • Multitasking — Work with two OmniPlan projects simultaneously in Split View, or open several projects in multiple spaces on iPadOS.
  • Omni Automation [PRO] — We’ve made a number of improvements to Omni Automation, including support for input dialogs and file output. For more details, see the Omni Automation Release Notes (which can be found in the API Reference documentation).
