OmniFocus for iPhone 2.4.3

January 12, 2015

Requires iOS 8

OmniFocus 2.4.3 makes improvements to background sync and related features:

  • Background Sync When Activated From a Suspended State — OmniFocus once again responds to background fetch requests after being suspended (for example due to low memory).
  • Sync When Returning to Foreground — When appropriate, OmniFocus once again syncs when returning to the foreground.
  • Sync in Nearby Perspective — Sync changes can now be incorporated while the Nearby perspective is open.

OmniFocus for iPhone 2.4.2

December 22, 2014

Requires iOS 8

OmniFocus 2.4.2 fixes several problems, including crashes, present in version 2.4 and 2.4.1. Thanks for your patience while we worked on the following fixes:

  • Location-based Notifications — Fixed several problems with context names not appearing, and with notifications for unavailable or completed items appearing anyway.
  • Reminders Calendar — When Calendar Alarms are turned on in settings, the OmniFocus Reminders calendar is once again updated with every sync.
  • Forecast — Actions from on-hold Projects are displayed in Forecast, matching the behavior of OmniFocus for Mac
  • Group Headers — Fixed a problem where group headers could become detached from their groups in Nearby.
  • URL Scheme — Fixed a crash when opening the app via omnifocus:///task and omnifocus:///context urls
  • Project Perspectives — Project-mode perspectives are still coming; but aren’t quite ready. This update fixes a few problems, including crashes, related to work in progress.
  • Release Notes — The in-app release notes have a new style which is easier to read on smaller screens.
  • Nearby — Leaving Nearby in list view, returning, and switching to map view no longer results in empty map with no pins.

OmniFocus for iPhone 2.4.1

December 10, 2014

Requires iOS 8

OmniFocus 2.4.1 fixes several problems, including crashes, present in version 2.4. Thanks for your patience while we worked on the following fixes:

  • Settings — You can once again change notification settings.
  • Home Screen — Fixed several cosmetic problems, including empty rows, misaligned animations, and text that was too light.
  • Launch Time — Improved launch time.
  • Row Layout — Project and Project Folder titles were truncating at one line, but sizing for their entire length.
  • Forecast — Fixed a problem with empty rows or rows containing only “Inbox”, content getting garbled when crossing over midnight, and Calendar appointments being hidden by default.
  • Hangs and Freezes — related to the up/down arrows in the Editor and/or setting Due/Defer times
  • Crashes — Several other sources of crashing
  • URL Scheme — The app no longer opens to a blank screen when launched via omnifocus:/// url
  • Sync — OmniFocus once again begins a sync automatically when leaving the app.

OmniFocus for Mac 2.0.4

December 7, 2014

Requires OS X 10.9

OmniFocus 2.0.4 adds localizations and fixes several problems present in previous versions.

  • Localizations — Localized OmniFocus in Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Spanish. OmniFocus Help and related documents are not yet localized.
  • Fixed an issue where changing the focus wouldn’t immediately refresh the task list in some perspectives.
  • Switching to a built-in perspective will now reset the current search just like switching to a custom perspective does. This means that switching to a perspective with a built-in search will no longer leave that search lying around when switching back to a built-in perspective.
  • Fixed a rare database issue where many divergent transactions could yield a merge transaction with a very long filename–a filename which was so long that it couldn’t actually be written to the filesystem. This would result in an “Unable to check for existence” error which made it impossible to sync or make further edits to that database without help from our support humans.
