OmniFocus for iOS 2.14.1

May 2, 2016

Requires iOS 9

This release is focused on improving Sync:

  • Sync — Reduced the likelihood of customers receiving a prompt to choose local or server database by detecting when the current device was so out of date that it had been removed from the client pool. In these cases we now just take the server database and merge any local changes to it if necessary.
  • TaskPaper Format — Fixed a problem where projects were being exported with the wrong @autodone setting.
  • Crashes — Fixed three of our most common crashes in OmniFocus 2.14.
  • URL Crash — Fixed a crash when OmniFocus was cold-launched via an /add URL.
  • URL Crash — Fixed a crash when a malformed attachment was added via URL.

This release adds features for automation:

  • Pasteboard Format — OmniFocus now uses TaskPaper text as a pasteboard format (on iOS only, for now), which means much more metadata is available to other applications when copying and pasting. For an example, copy a repeating action that has a project and context assigned and paste into Mail or Notes.
  • omnifocus:///add? URLs — Many more parameters are available for /add urls. For more information, check out the draft documentation thread on discourse.
  • x-callback URLs — We now support x-callback URLS for /add, /paste, and navigation URLs like /inbox. We also support x-cancel and x-success.
  • Dates and Times — Updated the parser used when processing /add URLs to be more flexible.
  • Crash — Fixed a crash when trying to delete the No Context row, which is no longer possible.

OmniFocus 2.13.2 — April 8, 2016

This release fixes bugs present in OmniFocus 2.13.

  • Today Widget & Apple Watch — Fixed a problem where when using a custom perspective set to only show available items, unavailable actions in a sequential project mistakenly appeared.
  • Home Screen — Fixed a bug that resulted in an empty home screen, or the inability to view new perspectives, when creating a perspective on iPhone.
  • Settings — You can once again backspace in the account field of Omni Sync Server settings.
  • Crashes — Fixed several crashes, both common and uncommon.
  • Other — Fixed several smaller bugs.

OmniFocus 2.13.1 — April 1, 2016

This release fixes a regression in OmniFocus 2.13 that could leave the app unresponsive.

  • Hang — Fixed a problem where OmniFocus could become unresponsive when too many completed items existed in a container (like the Inbox or a project).
  • Chinese — Fixed a problem where the string for “postponed” wouldn’t display properly.
  • Search — Fixed several crashes deleting items from search results.
  • Paste — New items pasted from a list should now maintain their original order.

March 23, 2016

Requires iOS 9

This release fixes bugs and adds a way for us to tell you about critical updates.

  • News — This feature will only be used to inform you of important information: when a new major version has been released, for example, or if action is required to prevent data loss. When there isn’t any news, you shouldn’t notice anything different, but when there is, we’ll badge the Settings icon and add a News row.
  • Peek/Pop — We now provide options for Flag, Due Today, and Delete when you Peek the parent row while viewing a project.
  • Sync Icon — Fixed cases of the animated sync icon overlapping the static one during sync.
  • Forecast — Forecast due and defer fields now show the full date rather than time when the date doesn’t match the Forecast date.
  • View Popover — This now responds to automatic color palette changes.
  • Secret Bar — Fixed problems with the secret bar and showing and hiding it.
  • Rename — Hierarchical names in the project and context pickers weren’t always updated after renaming a parent; now they are.
  • Localizations — Updated all localizations and fixed some errors along the way.
