The Omni Group News
OmniFocus 3 for iOS Available Now

OmniFocus 3 for iOS is available now on the App Store!

It’s completely free to download. You can try it out for 14 days, and then decide to purchase the Standard or Pro edition.

If you’ve purchased an earlier version of OmniFocus for iOS, then you get a 50% discount. If you’ve purchased OmniFocus 2 for iOS since our announcement last October, then you get a free upgrade.

The new OmniFocus is the result of two years of engineering and design work, and it includes new features such as tags, enhanced repeating tasks, more powerful custom perspectives, batch editing, flexible inspectors, interleaved Forecast, and more.

Check out our blog post for more details.

Is it okay to say we’re proud and excited? Well — we are! We think this is a very special release, and we hope you do too.

What’s New in OmniFocus 3

Since reading isn’t quite like seeing — check out our video on what’s new in OmniFocus 3!

Inside OmniFocus 3

We’ve rebooted the Inside OmniFocus website for version 3.

Read OmniFocus customers Eric Bowers, Rose Orchard, and Scotty Jackson on how they use the new features in OmniFocus 3 for their workflows.

Then read our blog posts on tags, interleaved Forecast, and the Forecast tag.

There’s plenty more to come!

Next Action:
OmniFocus 3 for Mac

Now that we’ve shipped OmniFocus 3 for iOS, we’re turning our attention to OmniFocus 3 for Mac.

It’s not ready for testing yet — but you can sign up if you’d like to help. It’s the same signup page we used for iOS, so if you’ve already signed up, you don’t need to do it again.

In the meantime, you can sync your data between OmniFocus 3 for iOS and OmniFocus 2 for Mac, as long as you’re using the latest version of the Mac app and you’ve migrated your database. The Mac doesn’t understand all of the new features, but it syncs them.

Listen to — or read, since we have transcripts! — our special episodes on OmniFocus 3:

  • Tags: on how they replace contexts and enable new workflows
  • Potpourri: on customizable inspectors, enhanced repeating tasks, batch editing, and the interleaved Forecast
  • Custom Perspectives: on the new features and rules in this ever-more-powerful feature
  • Launch Day: on the entire shipping process, going back two years when started laying the groundwork

Our next episode will be recorded live at WWDC!

New OmniGraffle Releases: Testing Now

OmniFocus isn’t the only thing we’re working on!

We’ve love to have your help testing OmniGraffle 3.6 for iOS, which includes a new Auto Layout Connected Graphics feature. You can sign up for a TestFlight invitation to get the app.

That same feature — plus improvements to the orthogonal line routing algorithm — appear in OmniGraffle 7.8 for Mac, which is also in testing. You can help: read the release notes and then download a test build.

The let us know how it goes. Email omnigraffle@omnigroup.com or post to the Slack group. Thanks!

Works with Spark 2.0

Our friends at Readdle launched Spark 2.0, a new version of their popular and innovative email app for Mac and iOS.

Their earlier Mac version already had integration with OmniFocus — and the new version of their iOS app integrates with OmniFocus now too. Our thanks go to the Spark team!

OmniDogs!

New pictures of Omni’s fur friends appear every Friday on our microblog! Here’s Rua, who — we don’t mind saying — is the best dog.
