As always, our roadmap for the year isn't the same as the actual journey we end up taking! It indicates the direction we're headed in, but the future is never certain—and if we actually want to get where we're trying to go, our plans need to adapt as circumstances change. Now that our iOS 11 work has shipped, where does that leave us with respect to our roadmap for the rest of the year?

We’ve been talking about OmniOutliner 5 since last November, and I’m pleased to announce that the day has finally arrived: OmniOutliner 5 is shipping! OmniOutliner now comes in two editions: Pro and Essentials. The Pro edition has all the power that we’ve always brought to OmniOutliner, with support for multiple columns, attachments, focus, automation, and so on—and for version 5 we’ve added even more, with advanced filtering, word count, typewriter mode, customizable keyboard shortcuts, and so on. OmniOutliner Essentials is a svelte, focused, and extremely affordable outlining app.

From the dawn of the App Store, it’s always been our goal to provide the best possible App Store experience that we can for our apps. With the upcoming release of OmniGraffle 7, we can offer our standard unlocks of Standard and Pro, a free 2-week trial which unlocks all of the features of Pro and Standard, letting you freely choose between them. We can offer a discounted upgrade to the new Standard. And we can offer free upgrades to the new version to any customers who recently purchased the old app.

Are any of you interested in helping us test our apps before they’re ready to submit to the App Store? We’re working on bringing all of our iPad apps to the iPhone, so we have a lot of testing to do! And with Apple’s new TestFlight Beta Testing program, we’re able to invite up to 1,000 of our customers to test our apps while they’re still under development.
